Ann-Sofie Back

Ann-Sofie Back is an emerging fashion designer based in London predominantly creating women’s couture and accessories. Her designs are formally clean and simple, but occasionally look to rethink and undo their physical and material form, such as garments that unravel at the hem. Often they are inspired by Back’s love/hate interest with celebrity, which is not only in terms of their own fashion sense (or faux-pas’), but also how this is portrayed in the media – for example the occasion when Kate Moss turned a fashion disaster into fashion statement when she tore her cream satin dress and reworked it.

Ann Sofie-Back will supply the uniform for the female Arnolfini exhibition attendants for the duration of On Purpose.
